Mission Statement
The purpose of St Mary's Church, Willand is to serve God by:
  • Meeting for worship and prayer, fellowship and friendship;
  • Welcoming all age groups into the church family;
  • Being an 'oasis' where all may meet Christ;
  • Spreading the Gospel, the Christian faith and teaching the word of God;
  • Reaching out into the community in loving service and co-operation...
This is summarised as 'Serving Christ, King of Kings' and this underpins all that we are; a community of people who want to serve Christ in and through our lives and in doing so, show His love in the world in ways that draw many to Him

Culm Valley Mission Community - CVMC

We are also part of a wider community of Anglican Churches in the Culm Valley called a 'Mission Community'. Our Mission Community includes the Parishes of Uffculme (incl. Ashill) ,Kentisbeare & Blackborough and our aim is to share our common concern to reach out to those in our communities who do not know the saving love of Christ and to regularly share in worship and fellowship together.

Church
As a worshipping community in Willand we are diverse in age and style and offer two different forms of worship on a Sunday morning. See Services

However, 'church' at St Mary's is not confined to Sundays. We have several small groups meeting during the week in the evenings to study the Bible, pray and enjoy friendship together, as well as a weekly daytime group which meets to 'Pause for Prayer' on a Wednesday morning in the church. There are also a number of other groups and activities which take place week by week in the life of St Mary's, all of which are open to newcomers and visitors; a warm welcome awaits you.
